Join us in front of the Urbandale Police Department for our 5K run and/or walk on Saturday, September 30, 2023 to support the National Law Enforcement Memorial and Museum. Our Mayor, Bob Andeweg, will be running and you can run with him too! Pre-register before Sept. 21 to be guaranteed a t-shirt!
Drop in and experience Absolute Science's Bubble Stations, one of the largest Mobile Bubble Outdoor Programs in the United States. With long-lasting, hand-made bubble solution, and hundreds of wands of different shapes and sizes from all over the world, this program is a wonderful hands-on experience that brings out the child in all of us!
Time: Drop in anytime, 9:30-11:30 AM Target audience: Families (All children under 10 must be supervised by an adult)Location: Outside the library, on the Northeast Courtyard.Registration is appreciated but not required.
Drop in and play some chess; all skill levels are welcome! Held every Saturday afternoon from 1:00 - 4:00 PM.
Please note that this program is not staffed and anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
All teens ages 12-17 who want to volunteer at the library this 2023-2024 school year must turn in a volunteer application, signed by a parent or guardian by September 17th, and pass a phone interview. (Learn more)
New teen volunteers will need to attend one training session before they are able to volunteer. Choose to attend either Tuesday, September 26th, 4:30 PM or Saturday, September 30th, 1:30 PM. Orientation will last 45 minutes to an hour.
Age Requirement: 12-17 only
No registration is required for this training, but volunteer applications must be turned in prior to these training sessions by September 17th at 6:00 PM. This event will be held in person at the library in Meeting Room A.
