  1. Afterschool Fun Board Games

    Urbandale Public Library at Story Room

    Drop by the youth area from 4:15 - 5:15 PM on the fourth Tuesday of each month to make new friends and/or spend some quality time with family playing board games! We will provide a variety of games, some classic and perhaps a few new ones that may become your favorites.    Target Age: 5 years old and up (anyone under age 10 must be supervised by an adult) Located in the Youth Area, no registration is required 

  2. Teen Volunteer Orientation

    September 26, 2023, 4:30 PM - 5:30 PM
    Urbandale Public Library at ICN Room

    All teens ages 12-17 who want to volunteer at the library this 2023-2024 school year must turn in a volunteer application, signed by a parent or guardian by September 17th, and pass a phone interview. (Learn more)New teen volunteers will need to attend one training session before they are able to volunteer. Choose to attend either Tuesday, September 26th, 4:30 PM or Saturday, September 30th, 1:30 PM. Orientation will last 45 minutes to an hour. Age Requirement: 12-17 only No registration is required for this training, but volunteer applications must be turned in prior to these training sessions by September 17th at 6:00 PM. This event will be held in person at the library in the ICN Room. 

  3. Adult DIY: Iowa Fiber and Beyond-Bead Bookmark

    September 26, 2023, 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM
    Urbandale Public Library at Meeting Room A

    Members from Iowa Fiber and Beyond will demonstrate several techniques for making easy fiber beads. In the class, we will use repurposed fabric, paper, yarns, and other fun materials to make one-of-a-kind beads and use those beads to make a beautiful bookmark. Once you learn how to make fiber beads, you can use them for jewelry, gifts, home decor, holiday creations, and much more. It will also be an activity you can share with children and adults of all ages.  All materials will be provided. We will be using glue so wear clothes that can get dirty. Check out the Iowa Fiber and Beyond exhibit on display in our lobby during the month of October., Image URL:
