Police Reserve Unit

The Urbandale Police Department is fortunate to have a dedicated group of men and women who volunteer their time as police reserve officers. Reserve officers wear the same uniform, complete the same training, and perform many of the same tasks as our full time officers.

The Reserve Unit assists the department in a variety of ways volunteering and amazing amount of hours each year.  The vast majority of these hours are spent assigned to patrol and assisting with community events. Reserve officers are used during, the Mayor’s Bike Ride, 4th of July activities, National Night Out, police station tours, Urbandale High School homecoming parade, Halloween at Living History Farms, Trunk or Treat, and Shop with a Cop.
