Preserving Urbandale's History
Welcome to the Urbandale Oral History Project, where every voice contributes to the rich tapestry of our community's history. Call our pitch line at 515-331-6706 to share a two-minute overview of your unique Urbandale experience.
Before you begin, please keep in mind the following guidelines:
- Introduce Yourself: Start by providing your name and contact information.
- Brief Overview: Share a concise two-minute overview of your story. Highlight aspects related to your experience in Urbandale.
- Authenticity Matters: Ensure your story is true and reflects your personal experience within the community.
- Relevance: Focus on aspects that contribute to the history of Urbandale and showcase your experience(s) in Urbandale.
If selected, you'll have the opportunity to expand on your story at one of our upcoming recording sessions. We appreciate your contribution to this important history preservation project.
Our Mission
The Urbandale Oral History Project aims to preserve and celebrate the diverse voices and experiences of Urbandale's residents, with a special focus on underrepresented communities including – but not limited to – people of color, LGBTQ+, refugees, and other marginalized groups. Our mission is to create a comprehensive oral history that reflects the richness of our community. Everyone is invited to share their story. We plan to develop and share these stories with the community in 2024.

Please Note: It usually takes us about two weeks to review the pitch line stories and get back to you with more details. If selected, we'll call you at the number you provided to us, and work with you to expand on your story at one of our upcoming recording sessions.
