The Crisis Intervention Team is comprised of a sworn police officer and a mental health professional trained in response to individuals experiencing mental health or substance use related crisis. CIT will respond to Mental Health related calls for service, follow up with consumers they contact on calls for service, and initiate contact when we receive a Mental Health referral form to assist with continuity of care. In addition, CIT works to keep fellow first responders updated on how to handle Mental Health calls and available options for care. CIT also builds connections with other CIT teams and service providers in the area.
To contact the Crisis Intervention Team, email Officer Jessica Winter or call 515-252-8237.
