What does the Mobile Recreation van do?

Mobile Rec is a summer program that brings the fun to you. Our van is scheduled to stop at different Urbandale parks each week. Join us for activities to meet new friends and beat summer boredom.

How much does it cost?

Mobile Recreation is free!

Can I only attend the stop in my neighborhood?

You are welcome to attend at any park and time that fits your schedule. You can come as many times a week as you would like.

How were the locations determined?

We have tried to balance the locations between multiple areas of Urbandale and stop at as many of our larger parks as we can. Some locations were chosen due to the number of children who have limited access to transportation to other neighborhoods.

What happens if the weather is bad?

If there are storms in the area or tornado watches, we will cancel the stop. Please visit our Facebook page for weather updates. 

Will the schedule ever change?

We plan to follow a consistent schedule that is easy to remember. However, we may occasionally have to adjust our schedule. Follow our Facebook page for up to date information.

Is the van available to be rented for parties?

The van is only used for public programs through the Parks and Recreation Department.

Where can I find the schedule?

A link to the schedule will be posted weekly on our Facebook page and here on our website. We will also send updates to guests who may be at a park visit with us.
