Buccaneer Arena and Training Facility

The center piece of the Merle Hay revitalization project is the new Des Moines Buccaneers Arena and Training Facility. This state of the art facility will seat 3,500 spectators, and includes four sheets of training and competition ice. The new arena will play a key role in promoting and growing the sport of hockey in central Iowa.

The new arena will also be available for use for volleyball tournaments, wrestling matches, trade shows and concerts.

 Arena completion and puck drop are set for the fall of 2023, and will have a total cost of $58.8 million.
