Summer Coed Sand Volleyball League   $150

Bring out your winter team and dig your feet in the sand!  If you enjoy recreational volleyball, the outdoors, and fun in the sun, the Urbandale Coed Sand Volleyball league is for you.   We will play on Tuesday OR Thursday nights.  Check www.urbandale.org or call the Parks and Recreation office at 515-278-3963 for registration information.  Maximum 12 teams. AYATA:  Accessible Yoga at the Arboretum   $48

Love the idea of practicing yoga outdoors but maybe not so much on uneven ground? Or without a chair? Experience the benefits of yoga outdoors while being supported! Breathe in and feel the spring air and hear all of the spring sounds as we safely practice at the beautiful Jackaline Baldwin Dunlap Park and Arboretum. 

Accessible Yoga at the Arboretum is an outdoor yoga practice with the support of picnic tables & benches as props! Practice seated or standing knowing you have balance support during your practice. Janis will guide you to explore and experience the variation that is best for your body. This is a safe and accessible practice for adults of all abilities, sizes, shapes, beginners, and those with physical challenges in the body or recovering from illness or injury. The practice is gentle, mindful, slow and yet builds strength, stability and flexibility. Move your body with the breath and find the peace within. 

Janis Ware, RYT, of Your Yoga with Janis offers accessible/adaptive yoga, chair yoga, therapeutic yoga, yoga for non-traditional bodies and trauma-informed classes. BODYPUMP™ is THE ORIGINAL weight training CLASS, the ideal workout for anyone looking to get lean, toned and fit.  Using light to moderate weights with lots of repetition, synched to motivating music, BODYPUMP gives you a total body workout that will burn up to 540 calories**.  You will be coached through moves and techniques pumping out encouragement and motivation with great music – helping you achieve much more than training on your own! Bodypump and zumba

Flowers for Mom   $10

There is nothing mom’s love more than spending time with their kids and flowers.  You can give them both for Mother’s Day. Register with Urbandale Parks and recreation and get Flowers for Mom.  For $10 you will receive two flower pots to decorate, potting soil, seeds and a fun Mother’s Day craft.  Flowers for Mom kits will arrive at your doorstep on Friday, May 7. This is a great way to give your mom, or yourself, a happy Mother’s Day.  Max 50. Delivery is limited to LESS than 5.0 miles from Urbandale City Hall (3600 86th Street). Kits will be delivered by Noon, barring any weather delays.   If you have controlled access to your front door (apartment or condo), or live outside the 5.0 mile limit, please plan to pick up your kit at the Parks and Recreation office.  Registration Deadline: May 3

LIFETIME Fitness Adult Tennis Lessons   $60

Play. Learn. Love is a program provided by LifeTime Tennis. This program is geared for beginner and returning tennis players. It has been developed specifically for busy adults looking to learn the sport quickly. These partner-based, action-packed group lessons are taught by certified and LifeTime trained tennis pros.
