Shelter Features
The Community Room at the Senior Recreation Center is one of three enclosed facilities available for rent.  The Community Room is a perfect place to hold a family gathering, a wedding reception or a business meeting. The space can accommodate up to 185 people and has approximately 15, 8-foot rectangular tables and 4, 6-foot round tables, and 185 chairs.  A commercial kitchen is available to meet all your meal/catering needs.  The room is also heated and air conditioned.  The Community Room is located in the Senior Recreation Center, at 7305 Aurora Avenue.

How Do I Rent?

Community Room rentals must be done in person at the Parks and Recreation office at 3600 86th Street.  Office hours are 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday.

Friday Rental Rates

•4:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. - $300 resident, $340 nonresident (+ $75 fee if alcohol will be served)
•8:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. - $600 resident, $640 nonresident (+ $75 fee if alcohol will be served)

Saturday - Sunday Rental Rates (and Holidays)

•8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. - $350 resident, $390 nonresident (+ $75 fee if alcohol will be served)
•4:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. - $300 resident, $340 nonresident (+ $75 fee if alcohol will be served)
•8:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. - $600 resident, $640 nonresident (+ $75 fee if alcohol will be served)

The rental fee, plus a $200 security deposit is required at the time of reservation.  The deposit less any damage is refunded 2 weeks after the rental.  If the reservation is made less than two weeks before the rental date, the full amount must be paid in cash or by credit card.

Alcohol
There is a $75 fee on top of your rental fee, if alcohol is going to be served. 

When can I rent for 2016?

Residents of Urbandale may begin reservations October 1, 2015.  Non-residents may reserve the facilities beginning January 4, 2016.  Contact the Urbandale Parks and Recreation office at 515-278-3963.
