What is accepted? Organic yard waste is accepted in the Compost It! program including grass clippings, leaves, garden waste and brush. Items that are NOT accepted include food waste, stumps and dirt. How to Compost It!:1. Compost It! Brand Bags - Place yard waste into a Compost It! brand bag and no sticker is required. Do not exceed 40 lbs. of material per bag. Bags are sold for $8.00 per bundle of five, and can be found at most grocery and hardware stores.2. Generic Bags + Sticker - If using a generic yard waste bag, you must attach a Compost It! sticker for collection. Stickers should also be attached to brush bundles. Bundles cannot exceed 18 inches in diameter or four feet in length. Stickers are sold for $1.25 and are also available at most grocery and hardware stores.3. Compost It! Cart - If you regularly have a lot of yard waste, a Compost It! cart could be the convenient solution for you. The cart is 96 gallons and can hold the equivalent of three yard waste bags. If you purchase more than 65 bags a year, or simply don’t want to hassle with bags, a cart is nice alternative.
