Community Room

Available for rent Friday - Sunday and Holidays

The Community Room at the Senior Recreation Center is one of three enclosed facilities available for rent.  The Community Room is a perfect place to hold a family gathering, a wedding reception or a business meeting.  The space can accommodate up to 185 people and has approximately 15, 8-foot rectangular tables and 4, 6-foot round tables, and 185 chairs.  A commercial kitchen is available to meet all your meal/catering needs.  The room is also heated and air conditioned.  The Community Room is located in the Senior Recreation Center, at 7305 Aurora Avenue.

Friday Rental Rates
•4:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. - $300 resident, $340 nonresident 

Saturday - Sunday Rental Rates (and Holidays)
•8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. - $350 resident, $390 nonresident 
•4:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. - $300 resident, $340 nonresident 
•8:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. - $600 resident, $640 nonresident 

All times slots include your set-up and clean-up time.  

How Do I Rent?
Community Room rentals must be done in person at the Parks and Recreation office at 3600 86th Street.  Office hours are 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday.  

The full rental fee, 
plus a $200 refundable deposit is required at the time of reservation.  The deposit is refunded 2 weeks after the rental, providing all the rules and regulations are followed.  If the reservation is made less than two weeks before the rental date, the full amount must be paid in cash or by credit card.

When can I rent for 2017?
Residents of Urbandale may begin reservations October 3, 2016.  Non-residents may reserve the facilities beginning January 3, 2017. Contact the Urbandale Parks and Recreation office at 515-278-3963 with any questions.
