Workforce Development Series

Spring 2017: Pillars of the Community: Excellence, Ethics & Corporate Citizenship

The City and DMACC Business Resources have partnered to provide local businesses with resources for workforce development through a three-part series at no charge to attendees.

Urbandale is a national leader in Character Counts, promoting and modeling the principles of character: trustworthiness, loyalty, caring, responsibility, fairness and citizenship. The community embraces these six pillars of character and its business community does the same.

The results of the City’s interaction with Urbandale businesses demonstrated that many Urbandale business managers want their businesses to be more engaged in the community. Urbandale businesses attending the Pillars of the Community training series can expect to learn ways that the principles of Character Counts can positively impact relationships with employees, clients and the larger community. Series attendees will learn more about principles-based business leadership and corporate citizenship as an employee attraction, engagement and retention tool.  There will also be an opportunity to meet Urbandale nonprofits and learn about opportunities to engage in their work. There is no cost to attend the sessions.
