Overview


The Civil Service Commission consists of 3 members who must be residents of Urbandale. Members are appointed by the Mayor, approved by the City Council and serve 6-year terms.

  • The commission's jurisdiction pertains to all full-time city employees, except the city's management team and staff members from the library and water utility
  • Establishes and protects the rights of Civil Service employees
